Mother offers no forgiveness as man sentenced for death of Ryan Jimmo
Ryan Jimmo’s mother could barely hold back tears as she recited a line from her son’s favourite childhood book, Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be,” read Linda Jimmo, as family members gathered in the gallery sobbed and leaned on each other for support in an Edmonton courtroom on Monday.
Anthony Getschel, 26, will serve nearly eight years behind bars after earlier pleading guilty to manslaughter and fleeing the scene of a fatal collision, admitting to hitting Jimmo with his truck outside of an Edmonton bar in 2016. Full story at thestar.com/edmonton
