SNL’S Pete David­son wishes Ar­i­ana Grande all the best

Af­ter a whirl­wind re­la­tion­ship marked by a sur­prise en­gage­ment, match­ing tat­toos and a pet pig, Pete David­son tried to close the book on his breakup with Ar­i­ana Grande on TV. The co­me­dian and ac­tor’s ap­pear­ance on Satur­day Night Live was punc­tu­ated by quick quips about their flash in the pan ro­mance.

“Hey Mag­gie, I’m Pete. Do you wanna get mar­ried?” David­son said to mu­si­cal guest Mag­gie Rogers, pok­ing fun his quick en­gage­ment.

While David­son did im­pres­sions of po­lit­i­cal can­di­dates on the “Week­end Up­date,” he said that he’s been more into pol­i­tics since “I had to move back in with my mom,” re­fer­ring to the $16mil­lion apart­ment he and Grande had moved into.

“The last thing I will say is I know some of you are cu­ri­ous about the breakup, but the truth is it’s no­body’s busi­ness,” he said. “Some­times things just don’t work out, and that’s OK. She’s a won­der­ful, strong per­son, and I gen­uinely wish her all the hap­pi­ness in the world.”

Min­utes be­fore the show aired, Grande re­leased a new song ti­tled “Thank u, next.” She sings of David­son, say­ing “Even al­most got mar­ried / And for Pete I’m so thank­ful.”
