more: the City of Nanaimo, or the NDP government precariously holding onto power in Victoria?

The longtime MLA for Nanaimo is expected to announce a run for mayor of the mid-sized Vancouver Island town on Wednesday. Nanaimo has been rocked by a series of governance scandals, including a lawsuit brought against the mayor by the city and the arrest of the city manager for allegedly making threats against the mayor.

But Krog’s move could change the balance of power for the provincial government, where the NDP are governing with the support of the Greens, for a combined total of 44 seats.
