Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
JEFF WRIGHT’S ’83 CHEVROLET C-10 CUSTOM DELUXE HAS MADE A NAME FOR ITSELF, OR AT LEAST JEFF HAS MADE A NAME FOR IT. Fondly dubbed Leroy Brown, this ’83 features most of its original paint while remaining rust free. Although the paint may have remained the same, the rest of the Chevy is—as Jeff likes to call it—a “Corvette in C-10 metal.”
The C-10 takes its heart from a ’93 Caprice police car that
Jeff has outfitted with a host of goodies, including flattop pistons, Elgin roller cam, aluminum heads and COMP Cams roller rockers to keep the 1993 engine pumping in premium condition. An Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and 670 Holler carburetor serve as the lungs, pumping air through the Chevy for power output. Additional improvements include Performance Distributors HEI, MSD wires, K&N air filter, Hedman long-tube headers and stainless
2.5-inch exhaust system with an X-pipe into Spintech mufflers. The 4L65E transmission goes into a 3.42 posi rear. The C-10 Custom Deluxe sports a static 5-/7-inch drop utilizing a combination of Mcgaughy’s and Belltech components, with Belltech sway bars front and rear coupled with Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. Rolling stock consists of 18x8 and 20x10 Coy’s Wheels with flat caps and 1962 Corvette spinners.
On the interior, the original seat has been modified and covered in leather. The steering wheel has been replaced with a Forever Sharp mahogany model. The sound system has been upgraded with Retrosound and Pioneer parts, and the instruments have been replaced with Dakota Digital gauges.
Jeff Wright and Leroy Brown are looking forward to a chance to hit the road for the long haul and show off their powerful build.
