Shocking Cheyenne
THIS ’95 CHEVROLET CHEYENNE BELONGS TO JOE CASTILLO OUT OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. With more than 200,000 miles under its belt, Joe has been modifying the Cheyenne since he purchased it. While the Cheyenne’s 4.3L V-6 remains at the heart of this build, little else has been left untouched in Joe’s quest to perfect his ride. For performance enhancement, the throttle air intake has been replaced with an FIPK K&N kit to get the most power possible out of the ’95. The factory computer chip has been swapped for a Hypertech power chip, programming the Chevy for maximum gains. Spectre throttle body spacers and Edelbrock tubular headers work to increase the Cheyenne’s ability to breathe, while an 80 series Flowmaster exhaust and 14-gauge aluminum dual cat-back with chrome stainless tips take care of the other end in style. For the transmission, Joe has added an electronic B&M shift improver.
The Cheyenne sits on Ridler 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear billet wheels wrapped in Nitto Extreme NT555 265/50ZR18 and 195/45ZR18 tires. Mcgaughy’s 2- to 4-inch Deluxe drop kit hangers and shackles are coupled with 2-inch DJM spindles, Western Chassis DS-2 shocks and Hellwig front and rear antisway bars to give Joe control and drivability and the Chevy its solid stance. On the exterior, the paint remains original, but the headlight lamps have been changed to black, the hood is now a 2-inch cowl, and a billet upper grille insert has been added. A stepside roll pan gives the ’95 clean lines all around.
Joe may replace the motor with a higher-performance engine but otherwise loves how the Cheyenne has turned out. Who can blame him?
