A girl’s bedroom is imbued with a playful yet refined scheme that will stand the test of time

Designer Ami McKay gives a pink-loving girl a playful yet refined bedroom scheme that will stand the test of time.

“The pink elements can be easily switched out so this girl’s room can grow with her as her tastes change,” says designer Ami McKay.

1. Fit For Royalty

A tufted bed frame with an upholstered wingback headboard is a sophisticated piece that lends a princess-chic feel.

2. The Feels

A colourful textured toss cushion sits centre stage and imbues the bed with bohemian flair.

3. Dressing Down

Cream-coloured drapery is a mature element that brightens the room while softening its aesthetic.

4. Petal Perfect

This space is clean-lined with a muted palette, so removable oversized floral decals were used to add a pretty touch and a hit of interest.

5. Pink Pop

The rug brings a punch of hot pink to the scheme. It also introduces texture, pattern, warmth and a grounding effect to the room.

6. Funky Fringe

The bedding in this girly oasis is calming and quiet, but that doesn’t keep its pompom fringe from making a fun statement.

7. Work & Display

A small nook was transformed into a stylish workspace. Open shelving above the sleek woodlook desk provides display space for mementoes, books and objets. FOR SOURCES, SEE OUR WORKBOOK
