Designer Jessica McGouran shares her top five tips for bridging Mid-Century Modern and today for a welcoming, dynamic and cohesive space.

“Avoid vintage overload! Too much mid-century-style decor can sometimes feel drab, with lots of dark colours and heavy wood accents. I recommend picking just a few pieces, such as a dresser or dining room chairs, then balancing them with lighter, more contempora­ry furnishing­s for a fresh feel. Adding too many midcentury pieces can end up looking contrived.”
