Roxane Joly’s love of fine dining, travel and nature helped her put down roots in Carignan, Quebec.

Alove of decor, travel, epic meals in fine restaurants and the natural world were the driving passions behind Roxane Joly’s design of her custom home. Mixing the unpretentious beauty of nature with memories of top hotels and long, luxurious dinners in her favourite restaurants comprised Roxane’s mood board for the project. “I wanted to recreate a cozy restaurant atmosphere by building a house with a soul,” she says. “I wanted all the details to make you feel good.”

The Green Room

A passionate traveller, Roxane created an organic look for her sunroom. Hanging lanterns picked up on a trek to Thailand draw a dramatic focus to the black ceiling where natural and artificial vegetation are woven into the custom wire mesh. “I’m an outdoor girl who loves nature. This room reflects this aspect of my personality,” says Roxane. “There is no TV. It’s more of a place to have a drink and chat.”
