The Heart of the Home

- veronique.leblanc@tva.ca

Kitchens are one of the most exciting home renovation projects to undertake. But they can also be intimidating. Not only are there so many material choices to make, but once complete, the kitchen layout has to be perfect. After all, it’s not like you can just move the fridge if you don’t like how the room turns out. This isn’t the living room and the fridge isn’t a sofa! Plus, we all know kitchen renovations are pricey. That’s why, in my opinion, it’s the one room (along with bathrooms) where a pro designer is essential.

But that doesn’t mean you aren’t the most knowledgeable person about what you need. A designer can’t wave a magic wand and create your dream kitchen if you don’t know what you love. So, step one is to get inspired, and that’s where we come in. The designer kitchens in this special issue are, quite frankly, some of the smartest, most stunning kitchens I’ve seen. They are as distinctive as their owners, with storage ideas you’ll want to steal. And the expert mix of finishes is just gorgeous. Most important, they are welcoming and warm; exactly what we want the heart of the home to be. I guarantee you’ll find the inspiration you need to get started – I know I’m clipping more than a few ideas for my own files. Enjoy!
