Creating an eye-catching and inviting scene starts at the front door, where touches of purple, brown and lavender in the eucalyptus-and-wheat wreath strike a contemporary note among bright chrysanthemums, ornamental cabbage and oldfashioned heirloom pumpkins with their unusual shades and nubby shapes.
Michelle has been collecting many of the pieces for her holiday table for years, and loves the idea of combining fancy Waterford cranberry goblets with humbler (but lovely) turquoise glasses from Urban Barn. Some items, like Blue Willow transferware, gleefully mismatched champagne flutes, and the table runner (given to her by family who travelled to Guatemala) are true treasures.
