THE BEST KEPT SECRET ON THE WEST COAST OF VANCOUVER ISLAND
ON THE WEST COAST OF VANCOUVER ISLAND
THIS MARINA, IN TAHSIS, B.C. AT THE HEAD OF THE TAHSIS INLET, IS SET UP TO SERVE THE SUMMER FLOTILLA OF SPORT fishing boats. In addition, the docks have been expanded and now welcome cruising vessels up to 150 feet. Reservations are recommended for May to September, but the marina has 160 slips and will always try to fit you in. The restaurant has live music and steak dinner specials on Friday nights June through September and there is always an alternative meal and vegetarian option. Each year we receive positive reviews from readers, praising the facilities and the treatment they receive. The marina is neat and attractive, the people helpful and the fuel dock easy to approach.
When coming north up Tahsis Inlet, you can’t see the marina until you reach the very head of the inlet as they are tucked in and protected on the west side.
The marina monitors VHF channel 06 and amenities include a fuel dock with gas and diesel, washrooms, showers, laundry, free Wi-fi, a store with ice, tackle, and a good gift selection, licensed restaurant with a large tented and heated patio, and the Island Attitude Coffee Café. The Café opens at 5 am during the summer. Moorage has 15, 30 and 50-amp power. A courtesy car is available at the marina. There are many services available for boaters in Tahsis including propane fill ups, hardware store, a small liquor/ grocery store, fish processing, a GREAT museum “The Birthplace of B.C.”, and an Artisan Co-op.
The Village of Tahsis/westview Marina & Lodge has become a favourite place for crew changes because it is only a two hour car ride from Campbell River on the east side of Vancouver Island.
