With fantasy rating out of 5
Dennis Cholowski D, Red Wings
Rookie leads the Wings in power-play ice time with six of his eight points coming on the man advantage. And with Detroit in rebuild mode, they can afford to give him a long leash in that role. The minus-6 isn’t pretty, and likely won’t be all season, but the 2016 first-rounder can be a help if you’re in need of PPPs.
Anthony Duclair RW, Blue Jackets
P P P
Ever since his 20-goal, 44-point rookie campaign with Arizona three years and three teams ago, he’s been a large fantasy disappointment. In his first season with the Jackets, however he’s 5-3-8 in 12 games and has four points in his past four. Normally we’d brush it off as a hot streak, but with Duclair’s high-end skillset, there is a chance his value is finally on the way back up.
Darcy Kuemper G, Coyotes
With a 1.34 GAA and .957 SV% over three games, former Wild starter is among the best backup goalies in the NHL at the moment. Long-term viability remains a red flag as the Coyotes are prone to giving up a ton of shots and Antti Raanta is playing well as the No 1.
