VIOLET SANFORD ( COYOTE UGLY, 2000)

SundayXtra - - ENTERTAINMENT -

Young Violet ( Piper Perabo) is just a sweet New Jersey gal with dreams of becoming a successful songwriter in the big city. But — wacky irony alert! — she’s got a brutal case of stage fright and just can’t bring herself to perform in public. Luckily, she can bring herself to dress up in skimpy outfits and dance to pseudo-country songs at Coyote Ugly, which, naturally, qualifies her to become a bartender there. Eventually, Violet figures out how to overcome her stage fright ( she’ll just perform in the dark! Genius!) and makes it to the big time, penning mediocre pop songs for the likes of LeAnn Rimes. Aim high, kids!
