Wright delighted film’s a dud

SEAN Penn’s new movie is a total stinkeroo — and Robin Wright is delighted, the New York Post says. Here’s why:

The movie, The Last Face, is a love story about aid workers in Africa. The idea was for many years “a passion project for Wright,” the paper says. She was going to star with Ryan Gosling, then with Javier Bardem in the Penndirected film, but the financing never came through.

After Wright and Penn divorced in 2010, he took an option on the script (vindictively, some say), started dating Theron, cast her in the picture, and here we are.

Therefore, as Nameless Insider told the Post, “Robin is thrilled the movie bombed. She has too much class to say so publicly, but… it would have killed her if Charlize had won an Oscar in the role that was meant for her.”
