Panasonic Lumix TZ 90
A highly specced superzoom compact camera ideal for your travels
Design
The TZ90’s got a bit of a boxy, utilitarian design compared to the SX730, but that means it can squeeze in a welcome electronic viewfinder. It’ll be a snugger fit in your jeans pocket than the Canon, but it’s still possible.
Features
There’s a lot of specs for your cash with the TZ90. A 30x optical zoom joins 4K Video and Photo modes, full manual control, raw format shooting and a good set of automatic and scene options. The screen is touch-sensitive, too.
Performance
In good light, images are bright and punchy, but as with the Canon, low-light performance isn’t the TZ90’s forte. You can use the 4K Photo modes to extract stills from 30FPS video, which is great for fast-moving subjects.
Usability
All of the buttons are grouped together for easy one-handed operation, while the buttons are customisable to your preferred way of working. The viewfinder is small, but there if you need it, and the tilting screen facilitates 4K selfies.
