Hang on, is this another smart speaker like the Sony?
It does have built-in speakers and it is smart, but this gadget is actually your answer to a good night’s sleep. Hopefully, anyway. The touch-sensitive Terraillon Homni is a comprehensive sleep machine that tracks the quality and duration of your slumber, and helps you customise your bedroom environment so it’s ready for a decent kip.
My sleep is dire, though. How will this help me?
Terraillon has worked with the European Sleep Center to develop adapted light and sound programs for the Homni, created to help you sleep better and wake up fresher. The Homni itself features four sensors, and the gadget is coupled with a separate Dot sleep sensor that, when used with Terraillon’s Wellness Coach app, provides a ‘dashboard’ of data.
What exactly is it tracking, then?
The Homni monitors temperature, humidity, noise levels and luminosity in the bedroom. The Dot monitors the duration and cycles of your sleep, in addition to body movement, awarding a sleep score, empowering you to make changes to achieve quality sleep.
I have trouble falling asleep, too.
Homni can help via its ‘cardiac coherence’ feature, where the light pulses in slow rhythms. When you breathe in time with the light, your breathing slows and you enter a state of relaxation, which should help you fall asleep.
