PIZZA MAKING MADE EASY
Gozney introduces its most advanced pizza ovens yet
With warmer and brighter days on the horizon, it’s time to start upgrading your garden to fully embrace outdoor cooking and al fresco dining this year. And what better way to do that than by investing in a pizza oven?! Having a pizza oven in your garden is the gateway into authentic and delicious tasting pizza that’s head and shoulders above the frozen versions you can find at the supermarket.
One of today’s best pizza oven manufacturers is Gozney. Best known for its iconic Dome pizza oven, Gozney has since expanded its portfolio with its new Arc collection. The Gozney Arc range features the Arc (£599, gozney.com) and Arc XL (£699), which Gozney is calling its ‘most advanced pizza ovens yet’.
Designed for beginner pizza makers and experts alike, the Gozney Arc builds on the success of its predecessors with its new lateral gas burner and wider mouth. Powered by propane gas, the burner is located on the side of the Arc, creating a flame that fans out and rolls across the dome ceiling inside the pizza oven. This movement and power is similar to that of a wood fire, and it works within the insulation’s ratio and stone floor for even heat distribution that creates the crispiest crusts every time.
Not only does the lateral burner allow for better precision and consistency, but it gives more space within the Arc. Inspired by traditional Neapolitan ovens, the Arc’s mouth expands on the extra large size of the Gozney Dome S1, which launched last year. The wider mouth of the Arc stretches across the front of the oven, offering a bigger space to manoeuvre your pizza, using Gozney’s many accessories.
Reaching temperatures of 500°C, the Arc is ready to go in a matter of minutes, and uses its built-in digital thermometer to monitor the heat and flames. It might be called a pizza oven, but all products from Gozney can be used to make pizzas, meat, vegetables and even cakes for the ultimate versatility.
The main differences between the Arc and Arc XL is the size (unsurprisingly), as the former is best for 14-inch pizzas, whereas the latter can fit up to 16-inch pizzas. The Arc is more similar to the Dome S1 than the original Dome, as both are gas-only, whereas the OG can also be powered by wood pellets.
Both the Arc and Dome have similar styling, with the dome shape and high quality durable materials, but what really sets the Arc apart from its siblings is its burner and size. With more precision than before, the Arc is sure to appeal to many but particularly beginners, as the space and controls provide a greater ease and more room for trial and error.
