THE 2018 CANA­DIAN CULINARY CHAM­PI­ONSHIPS, a two-day event that took place in Kelowna BC in Fe­bru­ary, 2018 was a tight-run race by the eleven chefs who won gold in the Gold Medal Plates re­gional qual­i­fier com­pe­ti­tion across Canada.

In the 12th edi­tion of this pres­ti­gious na­tional culinary com­pe­ti­tion, Chef Alex Chen from Boule­vard Kitchen & Oys­ter Bar in Vancouver emerged as the win­ner, with Chef Éric Gon­za­lez of L'Ate­lier Joël Robu­chon in Mon­treal tak­ing the sil­ver medal and Chef Barry Mooney of Gio in Nova Sco­tia the bronze.
