Mon­trose sen­tenced for more than three years cus­tody

Dou­glas An­thony Mon­trose, 48, of Prince Arthur Street, Amherst, was re­cently sen­tenced in court to a to­tal of three years and four months fed­eral cus­tody af­ter plead­ing guilty to sev­eral charges.

He was sen­tenced to two years cus­tody, mi­nus 219 days of re­mand time, and a life­time firearms pro­hi­bi­tion af­ter plead­ing guilty to traf­fick­ing metham­phetamine.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred Jan. 9, 2018 in Amherst.

Mon­trose was sen­tenced to an ad­di­tional six months cus­tody, con­sec­u­tive to other sen­tences, af­ter plead­ing guilty to pos­ses­sion of metham­phetamine.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred May 10, 2018 in Amherst.

He was also sen­tenced to 30 days cus­tody, con­sec­u­tive to other sen­tences, af­ter plead­ing guilty to fail­ing to com­ply with a con­di­tion to re­side at his res­i­dence un­less per­mis­sion to re­side else­where was ob­tained from the court in ad­vance, and for fail­ing to com­ply with a con­di­tion to no to pos­sess or con­sume a con­trolled sub­stance as de­fined in the Con­trolled Drugs and Sub­stance act, ex­cept in ac­cor­dance with a physi­cian’s pre­scrip­tion or le­gal au­tho­riza­tion.

The in­ci­dents oc­curred May 10, 2018 in Amherst.

He was also sen­tenced to six months cus­tody, con­sec­u­tive to other sen­tences, af­ter plead­ing guilty to pos­sess­ing oxy­codone for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred June 21, 2018.

Mon­trose was also sen­tenced to 30 days cus­tody on each of three counts, con­sec­u­tive to other sen­tences, af­ter plead­ing guilty to fail­ing to com­ply with a con­di­tion to not pos­sess al­co­hol or other in­tox­i­cat­ing sub­stances with­out law­ful ex­cuse, fail­ing to com­ply with a con­di­tion to keep the peace and be of good be­hav­iour and to not be in­volved in crim­i­nal be­hav­iour, and fail­ing to com­ply with a con­di­tion to not pos­sess or con­sume a con­trolled sub­stance as de­fined in the Con­trolled Drugs and Sub­stance act, ex­cept in ac­cor­dance with a physi­cian’s pre­scrip­tion or le­gal au­tho­riza­tion.

The three in­ci­dents oc­curred June 21, 2018, in Amherst.

Do­herty fined for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana

Stephen Ge­orge Do­herty, 32, of Tid­nish, was sen­tenced in court to a fine of $600, plus a $180 vic­tim sur­charge, af­ter plead­ing guilty to pos­sess­ing mar­i­juana in an amount that does not ex­ceed three kilo­grams.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred Nov. 16, 2017 in Tid­nish.

Trem­blay sen­tenced for com­mit­ting as­sault

Ni­cole Bonita Kathy Trem­blay, 27, of La­planche Street, Amherst, was sen­tenced in court to a con­di­tional dis­charge, fol­low­ing nine months pro­ba­tion, plus con­di­tions, af­ter plead­ing guilty to com­mit­ting as­sault. The in­ci­dent oc­curred Jan. 16, 2018 in Amherst.
