Parks have been win­ter­ized but there are still many op­por­tu­ni­ties to play.

The Ro­tary Park wash­room has been closed for the sea­son but you can take ad­van­tage of the nice walk­ing track and out­door ex­er­cise equip­ment. Bea­con Street wash­rooms have also been closed for the sea­son but play equip­ment can still be used.

Lions Park ten­nis courts are now closed for the sea­son but play­ground equip­ment and walk­ing track are still in use. En­joy all Dickey Park has to of­fer in­clud­ing wash­rooms, a lit walk­ing track or the dog park.

The Dickey Park dog park is a great place to so­cial­ize your furry friends. Please be kind and re­spect­ful and pick up af­ter your pets.

Also, Hard­ing Park and Ernie Mills Park are open for use.

Out­door trails are avail­able to help you stay ac­tive in this beau­ti­ful fall weather. So many great op­por­tu­ni­ties to get out and be ac­tive. If you see any main­te­nance is­sues con­tact us at 902-667-6500 or af­ter hours 902-664-8774.

The Amherst Sta­dium is in full swing. The sta­dium walk­ing track is open Mon­day to Fri­days from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Satur­days and Sun­days from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Re­mem­ber to stay hy­drated and en­joy our wa­ter-fill­ing sta­tion at the sta­dium that’s lo­cated near the men’s wash­room.

Through our Phys­i­cal Ac­tiv­ity Strat­egy we of­fer open skates daily for all ages. Please fol­low us on Face­book or go to www.amherst.ca for full ice sched­ule. Please note all recre­ational skat­ing is of­fered free of charge and you must wear a hel­met. Need a hel­met? Hel­mets are avail­able for lend­ing through the ad­min­is­tra­tion of­fice at the sta­dium. Hel­mets are avail­able 15 min­utes prior to the start of your ice time.

Look­ing for a spon­sor­ship op­por­tu­nity? There is still an op­por­tu­nity to ad­ver­tise your busi­ness at the Amherst Sta­dium. This past sum­mer we in­stalled a new board sys­tem that is bright and new. You can ad­ver­tise your busi­ness for a very cheap rate and get lots of ex­po­sure. If you don’t want your ad on the boards, we have other op­por­tu­ni­ties where you can pro­mote.

Try­ing to plan a New Year’s Eve cel­e­bra­tion with your fam­ily? No need to look any fur­ther. Come cel­e­brate New Year’s Eve at the Amherst Sta­dium. It’s our an­nual New Year’s Eve Fam­ily First Cel­e­bra­tions start­ing at 6 p.m. with rooftop fire­works at 8 p.m. Ring in the New Year with skat­ing, ice colouring, horse and wagon rides, live mu­sic, photo booth, and roof top fire­works. All ac­tiv­i­ties are free of charge and are to­bacco and al­co­hol-free.
