Ev­ery day peo­ple are pur­pose­fully killed. Ma­jor fac­tors are re­li­gion, pol­i­tics and crim­i­nal in­tent. Thou­sands more die from drought and dis­ease.

That a Mideast oli­garch or­dered the mur­der of a dis­si­dent jour­nal­ist is not all that rare, but the im­por­tance of the deed has way too much in­flu­ence on our prime min­is­ter. His con­sid­er­a­tion of can­celling the con­tract of Gen­eral Dy­nam­ics Land Sys­tems due to the mur­der­ous act of a for­eign coun­try isn’t right. The im­pact on Cana­dian pros­per­ity far out­weighs the death of one per­son or­dered by a for­eign dic­ta­tor.
