Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Wal­ter Alphonse ‘Wal­lie’ Walker, 70, In­ver­ness, was held Oc­to­ber 20 in Stella Maris Church, In­ver­ness, with Fa­ther Dan Mac­don­ald of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Walker died Oc­to­ber 17, 2018.

Born July 10, 1948, in In­ver­ness, he was a son of the late John Dan and Mar­garet Chris­tine (Ni­chol­son) Walker. Through­out his life, he was a well-known lob­ster fish­er­man and liked to take on many projects from weld­ing to build­ing homes. He en­joyed coun­try mu­sic and was a huge fan of The Ea­gles. He was hap­pi­est lis­ten­ing to mu­sic, play­ing gui­tars and hav­ing a sing-song in his home. He loved watch­ing the Leafs and spent many years in the rinks around the province with his chil­dren. Later in life, he took great plea­sure in fol­low­ing his son’s horses around the Mar­itimes and en­joyed his many years around the track where he video­taped the races for al­most 30 years.

He is sur­vived by his wife, San­dra; two daugh­ters, Angie (Dwayne) Mac­don­nell, Tanya (Redmond) Doucet, both of In­ver­ness; Wal­ter (Kayla), In­ver­ness; five grand­chil­dren, Mal­lory, Alex Dan, Myra, Mi­randa, Lo­gan; brother, Micky (Betty), In­ver­ness; sis­ter, Lo­rainne Dykes, In­ver­ness; sis­ter-in-law, Caro­line Walker, Creignish; many in-laws, nieces and neph­ews.

He was pre­de­ceased by five broth­ers, Ge­ordie, Alexander (Jean), Hugh (Florence), Jamie (Ann), Lauchie (Mary); three sis­ters, Is­abel (Dan C.) Macneil, Im­mac­u­lata Mack (Sonny) Hart­ford, Rose (Ray­mond) Mackin­non; brother-in-law, Harry Dykes.
