Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Mary ‘Daisy’ Elizabeth Grover, 81, Up­per White Head, Guys­bor­ough County, was held Oc­to­ber 29 in Star of the Sea Ro­man Catholic Church, Canso, with Fa­ther Jonathan Nna­jio­for of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Parish Ceme­tery, Port Felix.

Mrs. Grover died Oc­to­ber 23, 2018.

Born Jan­uary 7, 1937, in Canso, she was a daugh­ter of the late Mar­garet Alma (Ma­son) and Ce­cil Joseph Parker. While liv­ing in Mil­ton, On­tario, from 1963 to 1967, she worked sev­eral years at E.C. Drury School for the Deaf. Af­ter re­turn­ing to White­head in 1967, she went to work at the Canso fish plant for a number of years. She en­joyed go­ing to bingo and card plays. She was a mem­ber of the White Head Dart League and the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Dart League in Canso. In her younger years, she loved to go danc­ing with her hus­band. They both loved blue­grass and coun­try mu­sic and trav­elled the prov­ince to at­tend fes­ti­vals. She was a vol­un­teer for the White Head Fire Depart­ment Aux­il­iary and a choir mem­ber in St. Joseph’s Parish, Port Felix and Star of the Sea Parish, Canso.

She is sur­vived by four daugh­ters, Juanita (Mike) Dort, Donna (Blair) Horne, Ar­lene (Dave) Ban­nis­ter, Coleen (Dar­ren) Wright; son, Dougie Grover; son-in-law, Rob (Mar­laine) My­att; 15 grand­chil­dren, Rachael, Erin, Michael, Lisa, Jamie, Mary, Blaise, Kyle, Rob, Jonathan, Jes­sica, Court­ney, Daniel, Mary Ann, Ja­son; nine great-grand­chil­dren; six sis­ters, Theresa Macphee, Brenda Bond, Coleen (Tom) Bouchie, Ger­tie (Roger) Grant, Mar­i­lyn (Ed­die) Ros­song, Rita (Neil) Collins; six broth­ers, Tom (Doris) Parker, Bill (Pauline) Parker, Steve

(Chris­tena) Parker, Dave Parker, Johnny (Marg) Parker, Nel­son Parker; aunt, Ger­tie Snow; many nieces and neph­ews; Heidi Bouchie.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Doug; a child in in­fancy; daugh­ter, Jan­ice; son, Ce­cil; grand­son, Myles; two broth­ers, Char­lie, Ce­cil; four sis­ters-in-law, Anne, O’dessa, Joanne, Rosie; two broth­ers-in-law, Ho­race, Clarence.
