The Pictou Antigonish Regional Library (PARL) encourages people to make a difference in their communities by sponsoring a library book.
It’s the perfect gift that keeps on giving.
Sponsoring a library book (or movie DVD, or TV series box set), is as easy as dropping by a local library, including People’s Place in Antigonish, or visiting www.parl.ns.ca.
At each library location, there is a small display of books, movie DVDS and TV series box sets, available for ‘purchase,’ along with carefully crafted ‘wish lists’ of books (and DVDS) for folks to choose from, of all sorts and genres.
And, if a book idea isn’t on the ‘wish list,’ library staff members are always available to offer suggestions.
There are great benefits to library book (or DVD) sponsorships:
1. You will receive an income tax slip, for the amount of donation given.
2. You can be first in line to read the book or watch the movie or TV series box set.
3. A bookplate is placed on the sponsored item, recognizing your gift or the gift to the person.
4. A gift card, for you to use as a stocking stuffer to let your lucky book lover (or movie fan) know that you have sponsored a library item for them.
“A gift to the library collection is really a gift to your community.” Greg Hayward, PARL technical services librarian said.
“Every item added to our collection has the chance to entertain and inspire people for years to come.”
