Funeral ser­vice for the late Don­ald Hugh Macgilli­vary, 78, Glen­dale, In­ver­ness County, was held Novem­ber 23 in St. Mary of the An­gels Ro­man Catholic Church, Glen­dale, with Father Con­rad Ed­wards of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in the parish ceme­tery.

Mr. Macgilli­vary died Novem­ber 18, 2018, in Strait Rich­mond Hos­pi­tal, Evanston.

Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late An­gus and Christina (Maceach­ern) Macgillivray. He worked in forestry for many years as a porter op­er­a­tor.

He is sur­vived by two daugh­ters, Janet (David) Degano, Brad­ford, On­tario; Mar­garet Ann (John) Macrae, Lantz; three sons, An­gus A. (An­nette), Dundee; Bren­nan (Lucy), Shel­don, both of Antigonish; 10 grand­chil­dren, Jake, Al­ley, Ethan, Eric, Cameron, Lo­gan, Breagh, Ceilidh, Shalena, Gabrielle; three broth­ers, John Alex (Cathy), Lively, Ont.; D.J. (Cather­ine), Mull River; Fran­cis, Glen­dale; two sis­ters, Rose Mary (Dave) Doucet, Syd­ney; Eve­lyn (David) Burns, Troy; two sis­tersin-law, Rachel Macgillivray, Glen­dale; Betty Macgillivray, Cal­gary; brother-in-law, Al­fred Leblanc, Glen­dale.

He was pre­de­ceased by his wife, Mary (O’brien); five broth­ers, Lawrence Alexan­der, in in­fancy; Sam, Lawrence, Leonard, Ron; sis­ter, Cather­ine Anne Leblanc; two sis­ters-in-law, Ma­bel Macgillivray, Bar­bara Macgillivray.
