Funeral ser­vice for the late Ken­neth David Eh­ler, 73, Peas Brook, Guys­bor­ough County, was held Novem­ber 23 in St. James the Mar­tyr Angli­can Church, Half­way Cove, with Rev­erend Su­san Slater of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in the church ceme­tery.

Mr. Eh­ler died Novem­ber 19, 2018, at home.

Born and raised in Peas Brook, he was a son of the late Fred and Mar­ion (Eh­ler) Eh­ler. He be­gan his ca­reer in the fish­eries as shore skip­per at Canso Seafreeze, con­tin­u­ing on with 25 years of ser­vice with Fish­eries & Oceans. He was ded­i­cated to the church, spend­ing many years of­fer­ing his ser­vices as war­den and trea­surer to St. James the Mar­tyr Angli­can Church.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen (Hends­bee); step-daugh­ter, Max­ine (Mike) Felt­mate; two grand­chil­dren; three great-grand­chil­dren; brother, Ger­ald (San­dra) Eh­ler; many nieces and neph­ews.

He was pre­de­ceased by two broth­ers, An­gus (Eileen), Basil (Jeanette).
