Funeral ser­vice for the late Fern ‘Ma­bel’ Macdon­ald, 84, R.K. Macdon­ald Nurs­ing Home, Antigonish, formerly of Ken­zieville and Marshy Hope, was held Novem­ber 20 in Bar­ney’s River Pres­by­te­rian Church with Rev­erend Dr. Glen Mathe­son of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in Ken­zieville Ceme­tery.

Mrs. Macdon­ald died Novem­ber 16, 2018, in the home.

Born in Bon Ac­cord, New Brunswick, she was a daugh­ter of the late Daniel Thomas and Bertha (Fos­ter) Hamil­ton. She was a mem­ber of Bar­ney’s River Pres­by­te­rian Church and the ladies aid. She en­joyed card par­ties, church sup­pers, bak­ing and spend­ing time with her fam­ily.

She is sur­vived by three sons, John (Char­lene), Antigonish; Joe (Laura), Peter (Stacey), both of Ken­zieville; five grand­chil­dren, Alexan­der, Bai­ley, Ryan, Mary, Jesse (James); two sis­ters, Nina King, Re­becca Prosser, both of N.B.; brother, Ear­lin Hamil­ton, N.B.; nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Alexan­der Hugh Macdon­ald; son, Paul Daniel; daugh­ter-in-law, Karen; grand­daugh­ter, Shelby; two broth­ers, Evard Hamil­ton; one, in in­fancy; six sis­ters, Ruby Jin­son, Edna Lint, Dolly De­marchant, Jeanette Ether­ing­ton, Phyl­lis Clark, Is­abelle Jin­son; brother-in-law, Harold Macdon­ald; sis­ter-in-law, Mil­dred Ban­ner­man.
