Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Daniel Bartholomew ‘Danny Boy’ Samp­son, 78, Louis­dale, for­merly of St. Peter’s, was held De­cem­ber 1 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, with Fa­ther An­tolin Asor of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Ceme­tery.

Mr. Samp­son died Novem­ber 25, 2018, in St. Martha’s Re­gional Hospi­tal, Antigo­nish.

Born Jan­uary 7, 1940, in Samp­sonville, he was a son of the late Leo J. and Irene (Samp­son) Samp­son. He worked for many years as the man­ager of Cana­dian Tire in Port Hastings and then at the St. John Ship­yards. He and his wife spent many years in Truro as live-in home care. He en­joyed time spent with his fam­ily.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 55 years, Beu­lah Ann (Keat­ing) Samp­son; daugh­ter, Lian Par­sons (Todd), White­side; three sons, Ross Samp­son (Ra­monda), St. Peter’s; Aaron Samp­son, Digby; Dal­ton Samp­son, Hal­i­fax; six grand­chil­dren, Kayla Samp­son, Sa­van­nah Burke, Daniel and Der­rick Samp­son, Ben­nett and

Lin­dan Par­sons; two great-grand­chil­dren, Ken­drick and Ivy Duguid; three broth­ers, Cyril

(Kay) Hal­i­fax; Leo Amadee (Carol) Liver­pool; John, On­tario; two sis­ters, Agnes Camp­bell, St. Peter’s, Barbara Ken­dall (Bob) North Sydney; brother-in-law, Mor­ton Mcgrath, Louis­dale; two sis­ters-in-law, Kay Samp­son, Hal­i­fax; Irene Samp­son, Wey­mouth.

He was pre­de­ceased by broth­ers, Cyril, in in­fancy, Ed­win (Helen), Stan, David (Eula), Oswald; three sis­ters, Cather­ine (Melvin) Van Horne, Ce­cilia (God­frey) Pat­ter­son, Rita (Elias) Landry; brother-in-law, Dan Camp­bell.
