Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Is­abel Mills Gil­lis, 85, for­merly of Orangedale, was held Novem­ber 28 in C.L. Curry Fu­neral Home, Antigo­nish, with Rev­erend Peter Smith of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will be in Cape Bre­ton in the spring.

Mrs. Gil­lis died Novem­ber 23, 2018, in R.K. Macdonald Nurs­ing Home, Antigo­nish.

A poem was read at the fu­neral ser­vice by grand­son Ryan Gil­lis. Or­gan­ist was Hee-jung Choi.

Born in New Glas­gow, she was a daugh­ter of the late Wil­liam and Edith (Wells) Busby. She raised her fam­ily in Orangedale with her hus­band, Lauchie, and en­joyed the simple life on the farm as a proud house­keeper. She en­joyed a cup of tea and mak­ing bis­cuits. She al­ways had time for her many friends and had been ac­tive in her church.

She is sur­vived by son, Neil (Kathy), Antigo­nish; six grand­chil­dren, Brian (Steena), Stephen, Ja­son, Ash­ley, Ryan (Kristy), Erin (Chris); two great-grand­chil­dren; son-in-law, Doug Mccaf­fery, Mon­treal.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Lauchie; two daugh­ters, Edith Mccaf­fery, Chris­tine Gil­lis; sis­ter, Mar­ion Urquhart; three broth­ers, Ed­ward, John, Harold.
