Funeral service for the late

George Neil Ingraham, 83, Kenloch, Inverness, was held December 17 in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove, with Father Dan Macdonald officiatin­g. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Ingraham died December 13, 2018, at home.

Born February 14, 1935, he was a son of the late Murdoch and Marcella (Maclean) Ingraham. He was a member of Captain Angus L. Macdonald Legion Branch 132, Inverness. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 23 years with Black Watch Second Battalion Pipes and Drums and did one peacekeepi­ng tour in Europe. After retirement, he went worked at Shean Co-op as a meat cutter. He also worked at the Inverness Bowling Alley and was owner of G. Ingraham’s Meat and Grocery for five years. He gave bag pipe lessons to Dartmouth Boys Pipe Band, and the Mabou Ceilidh Pipe Band.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Matilda; two sons, Brian (Marcella) Port Hood; Neil (Carol) Lower Sackville; two daughters, Cathy (Mike) Beaulieu, Fall River; Mary (Billy) Macdougall, Beaverbank; 10 grandchild­ren, four great grandchild­ren; six sisters, Julia Macisaac, Port hood; Susie Fitzpatric­k, Baddeck; Gloria Mackinnon, Deepdale; Patricia Gillis, Inverness; Annie Timmons, Margaree; Nancy Macdougall, Glenville; three brothers, Alfred, Roland, Belle Cote; Bobby, Margaree; sister-in-law, Lucy, Margaree; stepmother, Ella, Margaree; many nieces and nephews.

He was predecease­d by son, David Neil; grandson, David Francis; three brothers, Murdoch Alex (Pat), William, David; brother-in-law, Dak Kennedy.

Memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.
