Maizie Ann Math­e­son, 82, Port Hawkes­bury Nurs­ing Home, for­merly of Pe­tit de Grat, died De­cem­ber 17, 2018, in the home.

Born Novem­ber 1, 1936, in Truro, she was adopted by the late Wil­lie Joseph and Bertha May Sam­son. She en­joyed play­ing Bingo and scratch tick­ets. She en­joyed walk­ing, one of her fa­vorite stops was the Fleur de Lis Restau­rant, where she en­joyed meet­ing up with some of the many peo­ple she knew. She was a res­i­dent of Sun­set Manor for 14 years. For the last year, she was a res­i­dent of the Port Hawkes­bury Nurs­ing Home.

She is sur­vived by three chil­dren, Th­rina (Sylvie), Ed­mund­ston, New Brunswick; Ber­nice Fougere, Pe­tit de Grat; Leroy (Linda), D’es­cousse; nine grand­chil­dren, April (Jay Ke­hoe), Chantelle, Lind­sey (Michael Stone), Joe (Madi­son Arm­strong), Kayla, Kim­berly (Mark Skin­ner), Kayle (Glen Mauger), Cody, Paul Ross; 12 great-grand­chil­dren, Konor, An­drew, Ai­den, Ja­cob, Karter, Emma, Bradley, Wy­att, Joshua, Alyssa, Kee­lan, Klay­ton; son-in-law, Earl Gib­son.

She was pre­de­ceased by her daugh­ter, Jean Ross; son-in-law, Wal­ter Fougere; grand­son-in-law, John Hink­ley.
