Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Mary Ber­nice Larade, 93, was held De­cem­ber 22 in St. Peters Ro­man Catholic Church, St Peters.

Mrs. Larade died De­cem­ber 18, 2018, at home.

Born Au­gust 23, 1925, in Samp­sonville, she was the daugh­ter of the late Mary Al­ice (Fougere) and Ammable (Mab­bie) Landry. She be­came a wi­dow at a young age when her hus­band, Joseph Larade, passed away in 1965. She en­joyed play­ing TV bingo and pull tab tick­ets. For many years she knit­ted ‘lopi’ sweaters, slip­pers and mit­tens. At the age of 85, she started trav­el­ling and took her first trip to Bri­tish Columbia to visit grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren, which she made an an­nual tra­di­tion for a few years.

She is sur­vived by three sons, Peter (Cather­ine), Paul (Diane), Wade, all of Samp­sonville; five daugh­ters, Au­drey (Dol­phie) Comeau, Yar­mouth; Muriel (Al­lan Samp­son), L’ar­doise; Ly­dia Mom­bour­quette, Samp­sonville; Sheila (Jimmy) Clarke; spe­cial daugh­ter, Mary Clarke, with whom she lived for many years; 14 grand­chil­dren; 25 great-grand­chil­dren; two great­great-grand­chil­dren; sis­ter, Bertha Carter; brother, Ce­cil Landry; spe­cial child­hood friend, Shirley Carter.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Joseph; two daugh­ters, Mary, in in­fancy; Mary Al­ice

‘Al­lie’ Larade; grand­son, Zachary Saulnier, at birth; sis­ter, Janet Larade; brother, Ray Landry.
