The Casket

One more chance

Being Hank & Patsy back at Bauer Jan. 11, 12

-

After the runaway success of Being Hank & Patsy last summer, Ralph is back in town to join

Laura for one more run of the musical.

In this true story, fate brings two actors together when they are hired to play the roles of country music’s most famous heroes,

Hank Williams and Patsy Cline.

To their surprise they fall in (and then out of ) love. But this is only the beginning of a friendship that continues to grow and deepen as they keep making music and memories together. The stories of Hank and Patsy are revealed and their classic tunes are performed with ease and flair by these two seasoned singers.

The audience gains a glimpse at their lives on stage, but also the musical romance that blossomed backstage, and hear some of the tunes that helped love take flame at campfire jams and gigs.

The memoire is funny, touching and brutally honest, as the true stories of Hank and Patsy intertwine with the story of Ralph Steiner and Laura Teasdale’s rocky relationship. The joy that is so evident when these two share the stage is a testament to the power of great music to hold people together even after their hearts have been torn apart.

The show continues to grow and change as life continues to create amazing adventures for the music duo. The script is ever changing as Laura and Ralph honestly share the stories of their journey including their experiences on the Festival Antigonish main stage this summer and Teasdale’s big move back home to Nova Scotia.

“There were so many people who missed the show and lots of people who come up to me saying they want to see it again or bring friends who they know would love it. So Ralph said he would come back to Antigonish to do a couple shows in January,” Teasdale said.

Steiner added, “I have been so welcomed in Antigonish and you will never have to ask me twice to come back here. It is an amazing feeling when the whole audience joins in on those classic tunes at the end of the show. Feels like family.”

Being Hank & Patsy will return to St. F.X.’S Bauer Theatre Friday, Jan. 11 and Saturday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 pm.

Tickets, which are only $20, are available at Antigonish 5¢ to $1 or by calling 902-863-0064.
