Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Ray­mond Joseph Mackenzie, 80, for­merly of Har­bour Cen­tre, was held De­cem­ber 31 in St. Columba Church, Lake­vale, with Fa­ther An­drew Boyd of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in St. Ninian Ceme­tery, Antigonish.

Mr. Mackenzie died De­cem­ber 27, 2018, in the R.K. Macdon­ald Nurs­ing Home, Antigonish.

Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late John Alex and Christina (Ma­clean) Mackenzie. He worked at ST.F.X. Uni­ver­sity for 32 years. He en­joyed farm­ing and his horses. He par­tic­i­pated in horse pulls at the East­ern Nova Sco­tia Ex­hi­bi­tion and around the prov­ince for many years. He also en­joyed dancing.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Gordie (Shelly), Fort St. John, BC; Kenny (Con­nie), Truro; two daugh­ters, Ann Marie (Dean) Mackenzie, New Glas­gow; Car­lie (Mike) Mcdonald, Havre Boucher; two grand­chil­dren; sis­ter, Dorothy Mackenzie; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

He was pre­de­ceased by three sis­ters, Mary, Josie, Mar­garet; four brothers, Billy, Johnny, Ralph, Gordie.
