Heart & Stroke Nova Scotia, with support from Bell Media/ctv, Couche-tard/circle K and Bingo Time, launched its weekly televised bingo game for Nova Scotians to play from the comfort of their home.

Heart & Stroke TV Bingo debuted on Jan. 17. Every Monday from 7 to 8 p.m., players can tune into a live game on CTV2 to play bingo for a chance to win up to $8,000 in cash prizes. Nova Scotia residents can purchase their TV Bingo cards at any Circle K store in the province. A five-pack game card costs $10 and only Nova Scotia residents over the age of 16 are eligible to play.

Well known radio personality JC Douglas will be serving as the game’s official bingo caller. Douglas is the former co-host for a morning show on C100, spent almost 30 years at Q104 and is currently on-air from 3 to 7 p.m. daily at 89.9 The Wave in Halifax.

“Heart disease and stroke takes someone’s life in Canada every five minutes, while approximately 1.6 million are living with the devastating effects of these diseases,” said Mary Ann Butt, Heart & Stroke senior vice-president of Nova Scotia,

Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.

“The Heart & Stroke TV Bingo is a fun and safe way that we can come together as a community, with the chance to win big, while at the same time raise crucial funds to beat heart disease and stroke.”

Funds raised through Heart & Stroke TV Bingo will fund breakthrough research, health promotion and recovery programs to support individuals affected by heart disease and stroke.

“A special thanks to our collaborators for helping to bring Heart & Stroke TV Bingo into the homes of Nova Scotians, sharing our commitment to help those affected by heart disease and stroke and empowering others to lower their risk factors,” said Butt.

The support from players for the very first Heart & Stroke TV Bingo was exceptional.
