Out and About is your new des­ti­na­tion for com­mu­nity events in cen­tral New­found­land. Space is re­served for non-profit groups and or­ga­ni­za­tions. Please email listings to Krysta Car­roll at outand­about­cen­[email protected] Listings should be typed, 50 words or less, and in­clude the com­mu­nity in which your event is be­ing held. You may also in­clude one photo, if you wish, but it can­not be a poster. Listings will run in print and on­line each week on Wed­nes­days. The dead­line is Mon­days the week prior to the edi­tion of the pa­per in which your list­ing will run.

Grand Falls-Wind­sor - Ex­ploits Val­ley Com­mu­nity Coali­tion in part­ner­ship with CMHA-NL, Em­power NL, Sta­tus of Women Cen­tral, and VPSC will be host­ing an ed­u­ca­tion and aware­ness cam­paign at the foun­tain on High Street at noon ask­ing to Rec­og­nize ASL-LSQ as a third lan­guage in Canada. One day in ad­vance of the International Day of Sign Lan­guage. Please join us to help end au­d­ism in Canada.

Twillingate - Twillingate Mu­seum is cel­e­brat­ing 45 years! Come cel­e­brate with us on Satur­day, Sept. 22 with an open house from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be light re­fresh­ments from 2-4 p.m. and a great sale in our craft shop!

Grand Falls-Wind­sor – The Ex­ploits Val­ley SPCA Looney Line is an op­por­tu­nity, once a month, to show off some of the adopt­able an­i­mals from the shel­ter and at the same time col­lect mon­e­tary dona­tions for the shel­ter. To re­duce stress on the an­i­mals, a dif­fer­ent one gets brought out each hour. A ta­ble will be set up at the Ex­ploits Val­ley Mall from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Stop by and drop a loonie or two in the jar, check out the an­i­mal, and said Hi. No do­na­tion is too big or too small.

NOV. 2

The North­cliff Drama Club is host­ing a Spir­its Survivor event at the Gor­don Pin­sent Cen­tre for the Arts on Nov. 2, with doors open­ing at 7 p.m. and the event start­ing at 7:30 p.m. Tick­ets cost $30 per per­son plus a bot­tle of wine, al­co­hol or beer (cost­ing $15 plus). There will be fin­ger foods and live en­ter­tain­ment. Bring your bot­tle of spir­its to the event. No home­made al­co­hol. The ob­ject of the game is to be the last name drawn. There will be im­mu­nity op­por­tu­ni­ties to keep you in the game. Must be 19 years of age.

Bot­wood - Ju­bilee Pen­te­costal Church is cel­e­brat­ing a 90th an­niver­sary in 2018. A kick off and ban­ner un­veil­ing oc­curred in April, and cel­e­bra­tions con­tinue with var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties through­out the year and a full week­end of cel­e­bra­tion planned for Nov. 16-18 in Bot­wood with spe­cial guests, speak­ers, gospel con­cert and a Rock Me­mo­rial event on Satur­day evening. Gan­der - The Gan­der Se­niors 50+ Club Inc. would like to ad­vise its mem­bers and the gen­eral pub­lic that their reg­u­lar card games will start on Thurs­day, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. and their reg­u­lar af­ter­noon bingo will start on Thurs­day, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. Both events are open to mem­bers as well as the gen­eral pub­lic.
