Easter is synonymous with chocolate and baked goodies, so it’s the perfect time for families to get creative in the kitchen together. Today, I’m sharing a few of my favourite holiday treats and fun ideas for celebrating Easter with food.

Having a signature Easter dessert that you make annually is a wonderful way to create holiday traditions and memories.

When I was a kid, my mom always made cinnamon rolls and a special bunny cake, and I remember my aunt making aebleskivers (Danish pancakes) for Easter brunch. In my house, we make Easter egg bird nests cookies every year.

To make our favourite Easter cookies, mix up a batch of “no bake” haystack cookies and add candy covered chocolate mini eggs to the centre of the cookies while they are cooling. They are adorable and delicious.

Another simple cookie option is to bake your favourite chocolate chip cookie recipe but substitute candy covered chocolate mini eggs for the chocolate chips. This easy swap-out turns an ordinary cookie into a delightful Easter treat.

Bunny bark is also an excellent option, especially if you want to get kids involved in preparing Easter treats.

All you do is melt white chocolate, spread the melted chocolate onto a sheet of parchment paper, sprinkle Easter chocolates and candy over the chocolate, let it harden and break it apart. It’s super-easy, fun to make and totally yummy.

Once you have a couple of homemade cookies baked, why not impress your family and friends with a creative presentation?

I love the idea putting together a dessert charcuterie board for Easter. It’s a really popular trend right now, and it’s easy and inexpensive to put together.

Start with an empty tray or wooden board and place a large chocolate bunny in the centre.

Then, add a few glass dishes filled with a selection of different Easter candy options. Finish by filling in the blank spaces with a combination of homemade and storebought cookies.

It’s also nice to serve guests a wonderful beverage to enjoy with their Easter treats, and a bunny bar is a fantastic choice. Fill mason jars with hot cho

colate, marshmallows (bunny tails), and chocolate kisses (bunny kisses). Alternatively, a milkshake bar would be a real crowd pleaser. You’ll need glasses rimmed with chocolate and sprinkles, fancy straws in Easter colours, whipped cream and a variety of candy toppings.

Of course, don’t forget about Easter baskets. An Easter basket full of candy is a holiday staple, but candy boxes made of candy are even more fun.

Grab four boxes of candy that are the same size and use hot glue to attach the ends together and form a rectangle.

Then, attach a piece of cardboard to the bottom of the box and fill the box with Easter grass and chocolate eggs.

You could also add a handle made from Froot Loops threaded onto a pipe cleaner, but this step is optional.

I hope I’ve inspired you to serve your family and friends special Easter treats this year. Grab some chocolate, have some fun, and bake up some memorable goodies. Happy Easter!
