Hawks win semifinal

Ciupka each scored two rushing touchdowns in the Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks’ 46-7 semifinal win over the St. Patrick’s Fighting Irish in LKSSAA ‘AAA’ senior football Friday.
Chatham-Kent will play either Northern or Ursuline in the final. Ciupka rushed for 166 yards, including four- and one-yard touchdowns, at the Chatham-Kent Community Athletic Complex. Stonefish ran for 102 yards, including six- and five-yard TDs. Ryan Middleton had an eight-yard TD run. Jackson Rountree returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown.
Trenton Amaro and Middleton had 35 and 32 rushing yards, respectively. Amaro kicked five extra points and a 20-yard field goal.
The Hawks also scored on a safety. Jarret Millard made four tackles, Brenden Bondy had three and a fumble recovery, and Xavier Hopkins also made three tackles.
