Hawks win semi­fi­nal

Ci­upka each scored two rush­ing touch­downs in the Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks’ 46-7 semi­fi­nal win over the St. Patrick’s Fight­ing Ir­ish in LKSSAA ‘AAA’ se­nior foot­ball Fri­day.

Chatham-Kent will play ei­ther North­ern or Ur­su­line in the fi­nal. Ci­upka rushed for 166 yards, in­clud­ing four- and one-yard touch­downs, at the Chatham-Kent Com­mu­nity Ath­letic Com­plex. Stone­fish ran for 102 yards, in­clud­ing six- and five-yard TDs. Ryan Mid­dle­ton had an eight-yard TD run. Jack­son Roun­tree re­turned an in­ter­cep­tion 60 yards for a touch­down.

Tren­ton Amaro and Mid­dle­ton had 35 and 32 rush­ing yards, re­spec­tively. Amaro kicked five ex­tra points and a 20-yard field goal.

The Hawks also scored on a safety. Jar­ret Mil­lard made four tack­les, Bren­den Bondy had three and a fum­ble re­cov­ery, and Xavier Hop­kins also made three tack­les.
