Ve­hi­cle break-in

Chatham-Kent po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing after ap­prox­i­mately $500 worth of items were stolen from an un­locked ve­hi­cle parked on Hick­ory Oak Lane in Wheat­ley. Po­lice said the ve­hi­cle was bro­ken into some­time be­tween 10 p.m. Mon­day and 5 a.m. Tues­day.

Po­lice said that although the sea­son of giv­ing may be over, the sea­son of tak­ing never ends.

Cit­i­zens are ad­vised to re­move all valu­ables for their ve­hi­cles and lock doors.

Po­lice said it also a good idea to re­move the garage door opener if your ve­hi­cle is parked out­side in the drive­way of your home, so thieves can’t steal items from your garage or ac­cess your home through a locked door.
