Sartori di Verona releases three classic wines to mark company’s 120th anniversary
Pietro Sartori purchased his first vineyards in Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella, in 1898. From these modest beginnings, Sartori di Verona has grown into one of the most prominent Veronese producers still in family hands
While embracing innovation in pursuit of higher quality, the company remains focused on producing authentic wines made from traditional grape varieties that truly reflect the regional terroir.
Today, Sartori wines are sold in more than 50 countries, representing 80 per cent of overall production. The original estate and the family home, Villa Sartori, remain at the core of the company’s identity.
The company is led by the affable and accomplished Andrea Sartori, representing the fourth generation of the Sartori family. After time in the U.S. and managing the domestic market, he assumed the role of president in 2000.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Andrea has assumed key roles with both national and regional wine-related institutions. Currently, he is president of Consorzio Italia del Vino, president of Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella and serves on the board of directors of FEDERDOC Roma — the voluntary organisation dedicated to protecting the authenticity and integrity of Italian wine appellations.
Another pivotal personality on the Sartori team is Franco Bernabei.
Viewed by many as Italy’s leading winemaking consultant, Bernabei has been working closely with Sartori di Verona’s team for the last six years — reshaping existing wines and creating new releases.
“I make it my mission to uncover the individual nature of every wine I work with and give it self-expression,” says Bernabei. “Individuality begins in the soil.”
In keeping with the prestigious 120th anniversary theme, Sartori has chosen to release commemorative wines in handsome retrostyle bottles — reflecting the image of an earlier era. All three wines present rare depth, concentration and authentic appellation character.
