LeROUX (Kelly), Eileen Mae

-

It is with sadness, yet gratitude for a long life, welllived that the family of Eileen Mae LeRoux announces her passing on November 7, 2019 in the Palliative Unit, VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax on October 22, 1920, she was the eldest child and only daughter of the late William Bernard and Patsy (Rolfe) Kelly. She is survived by daughter, Marsha Bernadette LeRoux; grandson, Lance Bernard McMillan, his wife Tara Worrell; and stepdaughter, Madison; and by sisters-in-law, Marguerite and Theresa Kelly; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by Bernard Louis LeRoux, her husband and loving partner of 51 years; and by brothers, Clarence, Ronald, Stanley and William Kelly; and by sisters-in-law, Myrtle and Madeline Kelly. Very proud to have been a resident of Halifax’s North End, Eileen cherished her community, its history and above all, the post-1917 Halifax Explosion home she lived in and lovingly tended, including an extensive garden for 68 years before moving to Arborstone Enhanced Care facility. Marsha and Lance wish to extend heartfelt appreciation to the Arbourstone staff for their loving care of Eileen during her brief but happy twoyear stay. Also, gratitude is expressed to the caring medical teams at the QEII Emergency and 8th Floor Orthopedic Departments and the VG Site Palliative Care Unit for enabling Mother to spend her last days in comfort and to pass away with dignity. Cremation has taken place. An afternoon visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13th from 2-4 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax. A private graveside interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
