Passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2019, at the age of 66. Born in Nova Scotia in 1953, he was a son of Zita and the late Leslie Kent. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Marise Leger; daughter, Adrienne; son, Christophe­r; stepsons, Jerome (Annie), Vincent (Michelle); and beloved grandchild­ren, Mykaela, Lydia, and Jude. He is also survived by sisters, Shelly (Calvin), Patricia (late Reginald); and brother, Louis (Patricia); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless friends. He grew up in Dartmouth and went to Prince Andrew High School. He moved to Ontario as a young adult to eventually begin a 33 year career as a Correction­al Officer for Correction­al Services Canada. He began in Collins Bay Institutio­n, transferri­ng to Springhill Institutio­n and later Dorchester Penitentia­ry, to finish a long and accomplish­ed career at the minimum sector of Dorchester Penitentia­ry. Peter enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending quality time with friends and family. After retirement, he became a member of Hillsborou­gh Baptist Church. He was heavily involved with the church in many different aspects. He was always happy to spend his down-time with family and friends. Visitation will be held in Hillsborou­gh Baptist Church, 26 Braam Cres., Hillsborou­gh, N.B., on Tuesday, December 17th from 12-2 p.m., followed by a celebratio­n of life at 2 p.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the donor’s charity of choice or to Hillsborou­gh Baptist Church.
