HUMBLE, Carl Eldon

-

It is with sadness that we, the family of Carl Eldon Humble, 73, born in Fredericton, N.B. announce his passing on December 15, 2019. Carl is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Lumsden) of 49 years; daughters, Nicole (Ian Jonsen), Karrie (Brett Graham) and son, Daniel (Kelly); mother, Eva Stewart (MacKay); sisters, Donna Craig, Connie (Rick) Hirtle; grandchildren, Ella Graham, Neve Lohnes, Alexander Jonsen-Humble, Lyla and Brechan Humble, as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, William Donald Humble. Carl was employed by the Federal Government for 34 years working across the Maritimes including being stationed in Canso where he met his wife and they had their first child, Nicole; Sydney where they had their second child, Karrie; and Moncton saw the birth of their son Dan and the formation of lifelong friendships. They eventually established home base as Dartmouth where Carl and Cal raised their three children. Carl enjoyed sports and always looked forward to his annual curling, golf and skiing trips with his co-workers and friends. He became active with Swim Nova Scotia and was often first on the pool deck for the many, many swim meets he officiated. He held a special place in his heart for Yoho Lake in Fredericton and we have many wonderful memories of our time spent at "the camp" with Dad that we will cherish forever. The way in which Dad lived his life is an example for us all. He prioritized his marriage and family above all else. He could always be relied on. He respected rules and taught us the value of working through problems. He was a car tinkerer extraordinaire and a "MacGyver"; he could fix just about anything and everything. He was the strong, silent type but "Drampy" could also tease and torment from a place of such love. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 20th followed by a reception both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sport Nova Scotia or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Online condolences may be sent by visiting: www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com (Dartmouth Chapel).
