CROCKET, Fern Deloris "Peggy"

-

Age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Born on September 15, 1932 to the late Margaret and Harold Munroe. Predeceased also by her partners in crime, sisters, Joyce (Louie) Gignac and Kay (Victor) Brown. Most recently and devastatingly her son, Kenneth (Mary) Crocket. Many close friends, as well as her precious pal, Sam will all be rejoicing her arrival. Peggy was a true light to all who knew her. Losing her own mother, at only 14, instilled hard-working ethics, true integrity and an indomitable strength of character. Let us not forget her spirited appreciation for enjoying life to the fullest. Which she did! Fostering many loyal friendships in the process and lasting throughout her lifetime. As well, making many fond memories with her brother-in-law, Jim (Frances), family and the many nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides of her family. She worked for many years at Scotia Nursing Home, however wished to be remembered more for the legacy of love she leaves behind, that of her family. Survived by husband of 66 years, Harold "Curley" Crocket. The Skipper will truly miss his mate; daughter, Heather, who remained steadfast by her side to see her on her journey; loving and loyal youngest son, Keith and daughter-in-law, Tina. Peggy was a loving, guiding matriarch to her family; they have a host of wonderful memories to bring them a smile in their sorrow. Mourning her loss of presence are her grandchildren, Shawn (Tammy), Natasha (Danny), Andrew (Lindsay), Crystal (Shane), Gregory (Emily) and Candis (Evan) whom she chose to honour her special day of coming into the world with celebration of her moving on to the next. Great-nannie was extremely proud of her great-grandchildren, Madison, Makayla, Makenzee, Maria, Aidan, Curwin and Nevan and would want them to remember her with happiness not sadness. She felt truly blessed becoming a great-grandmother to her little lamb Holly; she brought happiness to her heart in such a sad time and she was equally delighted in being here still to meet her great greatgranddaughter, Emmrie, who brought her such joy in her final days. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of 7.3 at QEII Health Sciences Centre for their kind, compassionate care and support these past many weeks. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 20th, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. from 1-3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Interment following for family only in Oakridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation. Online condolences may be made by visiting the website: www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com and selecting the Sackville Chapel.
