LAGATDU, Pearl Margaret

Age 82, of Beaver Bank, passed away with her loving son by her side on July 6, 2020 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Deer Lake, N.L., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Georgina Manuel. She worked at Sears Canada for 28 years until it closed in 2017. She loved going around collecting a loonie or two for her ticket pools so she could win for everyone in the pool. It was never about herself. Pearl is survived by her only son, Paul (Melanie) Lagatdu; sister, Patsy ( Larry) Kennedy; grandson, Jacob Lagatdu; granddaugh­ter, Taylor Lagatdu; several nephews and nieces. Predecease­d by her husband, Jerry Lagatdu of 50 years; brothers, Ross (Mary) Manuel, Harvey ( Marie) Manuel, Eric ( Patsy) Manuel; sisters, Evelyn (Albert) Sutton, Ruby (Gerald) Hoyles, Beryl (Conrad) King, Nell (Eilert) Yetman. Funeral arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 71 Mcquade Lake Cres., Halifax (902) 835-4212. In keeping with Pearl’s wishes a visitation will be held July 12th from 2-4 p.m., and a funeral service held on July 13th at 1 p.m., both in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s with Pastor Jason Hayes officiatin­g. Interment will be held following the service in St. John’s United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to World Vision in Pearls honor. A special thanks to Dartmouth General for their comfort and care.
