Of Dartmouth. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margie MacNeil on July 8, 2020 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence "Laurie"; her parents, Bill and Mary Heffler; brothers, Paul and John; and sister, Colleen. She is survived by her son, Ron ( Lorraine) and their children David, Jonathon, Nicholas and Mary; daughter, Heather (Paul); sister, Rosemary ( Ted); and brothers Alan (Shirley), Kevin (Isabelle). She retired from Air Canada after 30-plus years in Operations. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Church and Womens Association. She was Treasurer for many years. She loved the family atmosphere St. Paul’s Prish provided. Margie followed in her mother’s footsteps at the church’s annual Valentine Tea and Sale. She enjoyed daily trips to the Micmac Mall for coffee with Kevin and many friends. She always had luck with her lottery tickets. She also enjoyed bridge games with close friends. She loved people and always had a smile for everyone. Family was her greatest joy. A more loving wife/mother/sister/ Grandmother couldn’t be found. Special thanks to Jan Clark, Father Jim Richards and all the wonderful ladies of St. Paul’s Church for all the support they have given to her and us. I also need to thank Jennawalker, N.P. who provided me with medication that allowed Mom to stay home with family until the end. Thanks also to Dr. Harry Henteleff for his kindness and availability to help with Mom/s needs. We are also blessed with an extended family of coworkers (6A, VGH) whose support has been invaluable. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, July 13th at 10 a.m. Unfortunately. due to Coronvirus restrictions, only family will be able to attend, masks will be required.
