TIMMONS, Kenneth Edward

-

It is with heavy hearts, that we the family, announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Kenneth Edward Timmons, age 82 of Pleasant Bay. He passed peacefully with family by his side July 7, 2020 in Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. Born in Red River on October 31, 1937, he was the son of the late Bertha and John Edward Timmons. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Wilma Timmons; sons, Robert (Carolyn), James (Christina); daughter, Doris (Eddie); son-inlaw, Murray Pattingale; brothers, Winston (Gladys) Lawrence (Laura Lee); sisters, Dorothy and Eileen. He will be forever missed by his loving grandchildren, Amy, Andrea, Crystal, Carlynn, William, Kenny, Lucaus, Michael, Thomas, Carlie, Nicholas, Meghan, Faith, Chester, Logan and James; 30 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Kenneth was best known for his love and devotion to his family. While he had many hobbies and interests, he could be found on the water or in the woods teaching his grandsons how to trap, as he was known for his many prized pelts, and working on perfecting that woodpile. Even after retirement from the fishing industry, he enjoyed going out with his son Robert, and was always the one in charge. He loved his home in Pleasant Bay, and would rather not be anywhere else. He spent his time with his sons and many grandchildren, who he loved and adored, teaching them the ropes. He and Wilma often enjoyed day trips to the lake in search of the big one. While Kenneth enjoyed many holidays with his family, Christmas was his favourite when the house was always full, especially when his daughter Doris and her family made it home, and he would never miss getting his bag of candy from Santa on the fire truck. Mother gives Jimmy many thanks for all his love and care to his dad, whether it was working in the woods or the early morning drives to Inverness for his dialysis. Our family is at peace in knowing he is with his loving Father in Heaven. He was predeceased by daughters, Rosalie Elizabeth, Margaret Marlene; brothers, William Ned, Murdock, Donald "Donnie"; and sisters, Florence, Margaret "Peggy"; grandchildren, Alicia Rose Timmons, Rose Arlene Atwell, and John Kenneth Timmons. The family would like to send sincere thanks to the Inverness Dialysis Unit for all their kindness and compassion they have shown us over the years. As well as the nurses at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cheticamp, your kindness will not go un-noticed.
