WELTON, Marjorie Pauline

- Rest peacefully mom, until we all meet again.

With sadness and disbelief, our family would like to share the loss of our loving mom, Marjorie Welton, in the early hours of Tuesday, July 7, 2020 after an intense but brief battle with leukemia. She died peacefully at home feeling the love of family around her. She faced her illness, just how she lived her life, with acceptance, faith in God, and as always, worried about dad being taken care of. Born on May 22, 1935, Marjorie Pauline (Deadder) was raised in South Alton and was a daughter of the late Basil and Bernice (Varner) Deadder. One of nine children, we often heard stories of growing up in a large family and the treasured close times they had. She met the love of her life, a local boy, Don Welton at age 15. It was a love story everyone admired. They married three years later on November 25, 1953, and seldom were apart from one another. They truly were best friends and were always expressing their love to one another. Mom was a selfless, modest, and hardworking woman who took pride in being a homemaker and never complained. After her own children were grown, she babysat several children and loved them like her own. Having a strong Christian faith, she was always a committed worker in her church. She was a Sunday school Superintendent in South Alton for many years and one of the founding members of the Fellowship Club. She was a member of Centreville Baptist Church and a member of their choir for many years. She enjoyed being a member of the Centreville EWA, Senior’s 50-Plus group and previously the ladies mixed and seniors bowling league, prior to the bowling alley closing, much to her disappointment. She loved keeping journals and always recorded dates of events, deaths, births, and marriages. Often people called her when trying to recall a date because they knew mom could tell them. She and dad were very active, still enjoyed camping each summer, loved reading, her old- time country music, a good card game, quilting and as hard as it is to imagine, loved doing laundry. A proud wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she is survived by her heart-broken husband of almost 67 years, Don Welton; children, Bruce (Kathy), Janet and Chris (Tabatha); grandchildren, Leah, Michael, Olivia, Mahaila, Kiara and Mataea; great- grandchildren, Casey, Ian and Everleigh; several nieces and nephews. Also saddened are her remaining siblings: brothers, Eugene "Roy/ Bubb", Stanley "Tox" and Harold "Hal"; and sisters, Joyce "Dee" Aalders and Patsy "Pat" Pynch. She was predeceased by and now reunited with her parents; sisters, Doris "Dudd" Wanamaker, Sandra "San"; and brother, Ron, all of whom she missed terribly. We are grateful for the support and guidance shown currently and over the years from Dr. David Nunn and his caring office, the Palliative Care team, the Annapolis Valley VON and the wonderful support of friends of mom and dad’s in Centreville. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A private funeral service will take place, Rev. Steve Hopper officiating. A video webcast of the service will be available at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 11th, and can be accessed on-line at: www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com

Donations in memory may be made to Centreville Baptist Church, Valley Regional Hospital - Carey Me Fund (in support of palliative care in the home) or the Valley Hospice Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online condolences and inquiries may be directed to: www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com
