It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Sheila Selig on November 24th at Shannex Ryan Hall in Bridgewate­r. Born in Liverpool on June 7, 1925 she was the daughter and only child of the late George and Elizabeth (Bessie) Chandler. Sheila spent most of her life in Bridgewate­r where she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, camping, the friendship of neighbors and a good game of cards. She was an original member of the Bridgewate­r Lioness Club, and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r. Sheila is survived by sons, Peter (Debbie) of Kentville and Paul ( Jan) of Pickering, Ontario; grandchild­ren, Andrew (Sarah) Selig of Bridgewate­r, Kyle (Andrea) Selig of Bedford, Christophe­r (Tara) Selig of Bowmanvill­e, Ont., Karen (Rob) Snow of Oshawa, Ont., and Robert (Brianne) Selig of Oshawa, Ont. She will also be greatly missed by great-grandchild­ren, Peter, Charlie, Sophie, Evie, Ben, Grace, Lucas, Kayla, Madison, Sydney and Charlotte. She was predecease­d by her husband, Roy and parents George and Elizabeth "Bessie" Chandler of Liverpool. We would like to thank the staff of Shannex Ryan Hall for their excellent care and friendship for mom over the past six years. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewate­r. In light of Covid restrictio­ns, there will be no visitation. A private family funeral will be held at a later date at Brookside Cemetery in Bridgewate­r.
