The world lost a very special person suddenly on January 3, 2021. For those who knew and loved Tina, there will always be a special place in their hearts for her. Born in Glace Bay, on August 23, 1968, Tina was a beloved daughter of Kevin and Diane (Crawford) Mcnamara, wife of Danny Roney and mother of Aiden. She was a loving sister of Dana Mcnamara-morse, Karen MacDougall (Patrick) and Maureen Mcnamara (Cary Macdonald) and sister-in-law, Connie Roney (Alex Fettes). She is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tina lived in Sydney and graduated from Sydney Academy. She attended the University of New Brunswick and graduated with her Bachelor of Nursing Degree. She later attended Dalhousie University earning her Masters of Nursing Degree. Tina spent her career working in Capital Health. She was one of the original Expanded Role Nurses (later designated as Nurse Practition­ers) in Nova Scotia in 1997. Tina pioneered the Geriatric Nurse Practition­er role. Her love of older adults living with frailty was evident in the passion she displayed for her work. Tina was a member of Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Parish Church, an executive member of CGNA and a founding member of the Nurse Practition­er Associatio­n of Nova Scotia (NPANS). She also spent many years profession­ally involved with the Diabetes Care Program of Nova Scotia. Tina was predecease­d by her father, Kevin and brother-in-law, David Morse. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tina may be made to the the QEII Foundation in support of Legacy of Life, Nova Scotia’s Organ and Tissue donation program.
